the garage...
We aren't totally finished because my son will be building a room in the back empty corner - but basically everything is nearly in place - the workbench in the front will eventually be against the new wall which is why it is out in the middle today. Yes, my garage is 1100+ square feet. And the Vette photo is for [info]mckitterick along with my note that the boxes way at the top of the gorilla shelving are all very heavy car parts. :)

this is a photo of the right inside of the garage - there is a 'room' division behind where you see the white shelves. The bench up front will move to the left (out of frame) once the construction is complete.

open area where new room is being built.

closer pic of gorilla shelving - car parts and books on top shelf. That is our overflow refrigerator and my toolbox :) I have lots of tools...
sideview toward small 'divided' room space.

photo of floating toolbench with my painting shelves behind and my radial arm saw in front - all of these will move out of my parking space when the wall goes up.
partial outside view of garage - there is actually a third garage door and another wing on the other side - this sort of gives you a scale of how empty things really are

this is for [info]mckitterick and it shows my old old Vette as well as sheds etc.

And that concludes our tour of my garage for today :)

:::hee hee::: actually, my son uses the billiard room for the D&D gaming parties although he is threatening to use the garage soon because he has one that is starting late and he doesn't want to disturb the rest of the house (I have an after 10pm rule for D&D games)

Dude--your GARAGE is 1100+ square feet? It's nearly as large as my entire living space (bungalow)!

::grins:: yes, well (don't tell anyone) but I have a garage fetish too - I like to be able to fiddle and make things - you know...

Your garage is bigger than my house (840 square feet, generously).

Nice pix and organization!

Want to do mine now? I HATE it when tools go poof! Or you have to run an obstacle course in the hopes of finding it on the other end. No one in my family gets the "put it back where you found it when you're done" thing. Ugh! Good on you! I know mine can do that to. It has, in fact. Then the family happens...

When my son left I couldn't find a screw driver. This when I own maybe 30 of them in all shapes and sizes so I went on a tool collection and spent the better part of a day FINDING tools in every nook and corner. Once I found them then I had to deal with how out of sorts the rest was and that's when I determined it was time for MY PLAN.

Thank you - I am so pleased that it is now clean enough to use properly :)

It is a rather large garage - I have this thing about tools and garages - I'm so not a fem type woman :)))

:) Several people have mentioned that -- I think I'd forgotten how big it really is, once you have a space it just becomes the space.

Wow, your task was bigger than I'd imagined. You have a lot of stuff! Good stuff, right? A plethora of tools. So, what do you like to make? Anything and everything? Fiddle with things? Repair things? Create things?

This is my husband's dream (he's partial to tools too)--a huge garage where he can have all his woodworking tools set up--table saw, lathe, miter box. All that good stuff.

...Wow, you have a lot!

Actually 'I' don't have all that much stuff - the stuff on the left is one housemates stuff, the stuff over the microlam beam belongs to my son and the stuff in the right gorilla shelving belongs to another housemate. I have the tools and workbenches and books and the car parts and the car and a few other things :) but all told, I have pretty much rid myself of really excess stuff (except the books)

I built this garage about 10 years ago. When I grew up we only had a shed and as a child I wasn't allowed inside unless my dad was present - he had a single toolbox which I wasn't allowed to open etc., by the time I was about 8 I had my own toolbox from Salvation Army and had begun 'inheriting' old tools from everyone in the neighborhood. I used to do crafting on the top of an old school desk which my mom would allow on top the dining set table. That meant I had to put everything away every day - all that led to my garage fetish (I think) :)))
